
Program Summary
Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics are crucial members of the medical community who serve an important role in society. They are first responders and care takers who provide life-saving support to individuals in medical emergencies. They also provide crucial information to physicians in emergency situations.
This program offers state-of-the-art technology and high-quality, real-world training to aid students in their education and prepare them with the skills and education they need to be in the field.
Graduates from this program will have the opportunity to enter positions in emergency medicine, as EMTs and paramedics, as well as fire departments, and those interested in the pre-hospital field.

EMT Basic Courses
To be considered for registration in the EMT Basic courses, the prospective candidate must complete the following criteria:
- Complete the Hill College EMT Basic Application
- Submit documentation that you are current and up-to-date on the following immunizations
- 2-MMRs and Tetanus (within the last 7 years)
- TDAP (within adult lifetime)
- Current negative TB (2-step TB Tine Testing)
- Varicella immunity (2 shot series or serological test for immunity)
- Hepatitis B Series completed
- Complete drug screening
- Complete background check
NOTE: The prospective student is required to contact the Hill College Advising and Success Center to determine if they must complete further testing as required for general college admission.
Advanced EMT/Paramedic
To be considered for selection in the Advanced EMT/Paramedic Program, the prospective candidate must complete the following selection/testing criteria:
- Complete the Hill College Paramedic Application
- Submit all official college transcripts
- Submit documentation that you are current and up-to-date on the following immunizations
- 2-MMRs and Tetanus (within the last 7 years)
- TDAP (within adult lifetime)
- Current negative TB (2-step TB Tine Testing)
- Varicella immunity (2 shot series or serological test for immunity)
- Hepatitis B Series completed
- Current Health Care Provider CPR from AHA
- Complete health screening form
- Complete drug screening
- Complete background check

Hill College maintains an open admission policy; however, the number of advanced-level EMS training students that can be accepted is limited by the availability of the institution's classroom size and clinical instruction facilities.
